Required personal equipment

All ESIEA students must have a functioning laptop computer, as this will be an essential tool for the full duration of their studies. The computer must be compatible with both the scientific and office software recommended and/or provided by ESIEA, such as Mathematica and Microsoft Office Suite. It must be able to connect to ESIEA’s network and use all the resources made available by the IT department. Tablets, mini PCs and Chromebooks are not allowed.

Recommended configuration

  • Intel i7 processor (8th generation or higher)
  • RAM 16 GB or more
  • Storage 512 GB or more, SSD or NVMe
  • 13″ FHD display
  • 802.11 g/ac Dual Band WiFi
  • A dedicated graphics card (NVIDIA) is recommended, but not required

Minimum configuration

  • Intel i5 processor (7th generation or higher)
  • Minimum RAM memory of 8 GB
  • Storage 512 GB
  • 13″ HD screen
  • Wifi 802.11 g/ac Dual Band

Each student is required to have a Wi-Fi n/ac, USB output and network port (via a USB-C or Thunderbolt adapter if needed). For the best user experience, a 15″ screen and durable battery are highly recommended. Since students will be bringing their laptops to campus on a regular basis, the computer should preferably be lightweight and easy to carry.

For students who do not yet have a laptop or computer that meets these criteria, it is advisable to wait until the start of the school year to take advantage of the advice and special offers by the ESIEA IT Center or the computer association on our campuses – KPS for the Paris/Ivry-sur-Seine campus and RC-Lab for the Laval campus.

Finding student housing

ESIEA has established partnerships with local housing organizations and advertisement companies to help students in their search for accommodation. Students will have access to a list of specialized organizations that offer housing in proximity to both major transportation centers and their respective campuses.

Choosing your student association

Student associations are an essential part of life at ESIEA. They are places where you can openly exchange ideas, discuss your centers of interest, and meet new people. Student organizations also provide a space for both personal and professional development. Each student can find a student association that matches their interests and passions.

PASS ESIEA

To ensure the smoothest possible transition for our students, we have created “PASS ESIEA” – a four-week induction period intended to welcome new students into the school and their graduating class. PASS ESIEA will help future engineers, regardless of their previous field of study, to review basic skills and build a solid foundation to excel in higher education and their first-year courses.
