Program Structure

Our master lasts 12 months (from October to September of the following year). There is only one session/year.

First semester (6-months academic study period, running from October to the end of March)

During the first three months, students are required to complete core courses (lectures, conferences, projects) that provide a solid foundation in Networks and Information security. During the next three months, students customize their degrees to match their career needs by focusing on one of the following application areas:

  • either Auditing Techniques (including active pentesting) and implementation of information security

  • or Cyberwarfare techniques.

Second semester (a 6-month internship period, running from April to the end of September)

During this period, students are required to carry out an internship. The main interest of the internship lies in the practical application of the knowledge and skills acquired during the first semester of the master. The training takes place:

  • Either in a company located in the student’s country (it will be a five or six months internship); in this case, the defense of the master thesis will take place online via Internet.

  • In a company in France (to apply for an internship, students may benefit from an updated database containing internship offers suggested by our partners or French companies). It is therefore recommended to have very good technical skills to be selected.

  • In the school (students may choose the subject you wish to work on and his/her work is tutored by a teacher).

  • Or exceptionally in the Research lab of Operational Cryptology and Virology (C+V)O of ESIEA-Laval.

At the end of the internship, students must write a professional thesis and defend it (viva).
