Signal and Image Acquisition and Processing

This subject concerns all the applications that use passive imagery (that is optical) or active imagery (radar), signal acquisition and processing.

The actual applications concern the recovery and the processing of satellite images (covering such things as natural disasters), the development of autonomous means of observation in situ (drones, underwater robots, etc.) and even the procurement of data for cartographic purposes or 3D reconstruction.

ESIEA is one of the few engineering schools in France to have a METEOSAT satellite image reception station, officially recognized by EUMETSAT the European Space Agency.

This is a major and growing sector including remote sensing, real time cartography and many other strategically important areas which will be indispensable for the major scientific challenges of the future.
